All consumer brands have set ambitious climate targets and are Find practical solutions to take positive actions in a reliable way. Product packaging plays an important role in this process. We can help our customers make positive contributions in the fight against climate change." UPM Raflatac can Said Robert Taylor, Director of Sustainable Development.

As part of UPM Raflatac's response to climate challenges, UPM Raflatac is continuously reducing its own carbon emissions, as well as the carbon emissions generated by raw materials and transportation. The Carbon Trust has confirmed that choosing RAFNXT+ instead of standard labeling materials is a climate-positive action, and it also includes a more wise use of raw materials, which will help reduce the pressure on forests and enhance the ability to mitigate climate change.

Today, UPM Raflatac has gone one step further in reducing the carbon footprint of label materials, taking urgent action to offset the currently inevitable carbon emissions.

As the first company in the label industry to launch carbon-neutral products, UPM Raflatac can provide customers with selected RAFNXT+ label material solutions certified by CarbonNeutral® to help customers make wise choices. For these products, the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions generated during the process from the procurement of raw materials to the delivery of the products to customers can be offset by carbon offset projects around the world, which have passed internationally recognized standards (such as the gold standard) verify.

The CarbonNeutral product certificate is issued by Natural Capital Partners in accordance with the CarbonNeutral Protocol. The agreement is a leading global framework, drawing a solid and pragmatic blueprint for carbon neutrality.

The carbon offset project selected by UPM Raflatac has proven to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and generate more benefits by supporting the development of local communities. The selected projects include clean cooking energy and improved stove projects in China and Bangladesh, drinking water infrastructure improvement projects in Africa, and grassland conservation projects in the United States.
