How to maintain the inherent mechanical properties and thermal properties of PI films as much as possible on the premise of ensuring special functions is a very challenging research topic, and also a major research topic in the future.

Development of domestic PI film products

my country is one of the earliest countries in the world to develop PI films. In the 1970s, the former Ministry of Machinery and the Ministry of Chemical Industry took the lead in the research achievements of Changchun Institute of Chemical Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences, East China Institute of Chemical Technology and other units. The research institute (now Guilin Electric Apparatus Research Institute Co., Ltd., referred to as Guilin Electric Power Research Institute) manufactures PI films by dipping method and drooling method respectively. The Insulation Material Factory and East China Institute of Chemical Technology jointly developed a process route for the production of homophenyl PI film by the salivation method. In 1978, Guilin Electric Power Research Institute cooperated with the Seventh Design and Research Institute of the Ministry of Machinery to develop a special equipment for biaxially oriented PI film. In 1993, Shenzhen Xingbang Electrical Equipment Co., Ltd. completed the first industrial production line of biaxially oriented PI film with a capacity of 60t/y and a width of 650-700mm in China. At present, nearly 10 domestic enterprises, including Shenzhen Ruihuatai, Liyang Huajing, Shandong Wanda, Wuxi Gaotuo, Guilin Electric Power Research Institute, and Jiangyin Tianhua, have adopted the salivation biaxial stretching process to manufacture PI films, and have successively carried out biaxial stretching of PI films. industrial development.

At present, there are about 50 PI film manufacturers of various sizes in China, of which about 80% are manufactured by the drooling process, and only a few manufacturers are manufactured by the biaxial orientation process. The width of domestic PI film products is 1040mm, and the production capacity of a single production line is basically about 200t/y. According to the application in different terminal electronic products, PI film thickness specifications can be divided into 7.5μm, 12.5μm, 25.0μm and thick films, among which hand-held electronic products such as mobile phones and cameras use 12.5μm or thinner PI film, general electronic products 25.0μm thick PI film is used for automobiles, notebook computers and cover films, and thicker PI films are used for reinforcing plates.
