On September 16, 2021, Tetra Pak announced that it will invest 5 million euros in a carton factory in Binh Duong Province, Vietnam, affirming the company's commitment to continued support for food and beverage manufacturers and its confidence in Vietnam's economic recovery after the new crown epidemic. .
 
According to Eliseo Barcas, general manager of Tetra Pak Vietnam, the increased production will help the company better serve customers, provide more attractive cartons, and reduce its impact on the environment after the capital increase. This new investment project will increase the annual output of the factory from the current 11.5 billion boxes to 16.5 billion boxes, meeting the increasing demand for sterilized cartons at home and abroad.
 
In addition, the factory will add equipment to be able to produce high-grade cartons to replace imported goods. Among the investments also included the installation of 2,300 solar panels on factory roofs to achieve the company's efforts to completely eliminate greenhouse gas emissions from all its operations by 2030.
 
In July this year, the company implemented the "three-in-place" model. The company provided food, medical care, fitness, and entertainment equipment to ensure the physical and mental health of about 260 employees.
 
In recent years, Tetra Pak has grown faster in Southeast Asia and India than in the Chinese market, and various signs indicate that the company has gradually shifted its investment focus in the Asia-Pacific region to markets other than mainland China.
 
Tetra Pak entered the Indian market in 1987 and built its first factory in India in 1997. In 2013, the company invested an additional 7 billion rupees in the Chakan factory in India, doubling its production capacity, with an annual output of 8.5 billion Tetra Pak bags, and an expansion capacity of 16 billion bags per year. Tetra Pak's new 45-acre plant in India is its second-largest in the world, after Sweden's Lund plant.
 

In June 2018, the Tetra Pak carton sealing factory with an investment of 24 million euros was put into operation in Thailand. This factory is located in the existing straw paper factory of the company in Rayong, Thailand. It can produce more than 3 billion paper beverage boxes per year. seal. According to Michael Zacka, regional vice president of Tetra Pak's South Asia, East Asia and Oceania (SAEA&O), the closure packaging market in the region is growing rapidly, with growth rates set at more than 30 percent between 2015 and 2018.
 
In July 2019, Tetra Pak's aseptic packaging material plant in Binh Duong Province, Vietnam was put into operation. This 120 million euro factory is Tetra Pak's eighth factory in the Asia-Pacific region, and can produce 20 billion Tetra Pak products every year. In addition to meeting the local market in Vietnam, the products will also be exported to ASEAN, Australia and New Zealand.
 
With the strong rise of Chinese companies, Tetra Pak is indeed declining in the Chinese market compared to its popularity in Southeast Asia and India, and its monopoly position is being shaken by Chinese brands such as Greatview.
 
In July 2016, the State Administration for Industry and Commerce imposed an administrative penalty on Tetra Pak Group (hereinafter referred to as Tetra Pak) for abusing its dominant market position, and imposed a fine of RMB 668 million.
 
On July 28, 2017, Tetra Pak closed its giant factory in Foshan, Guangdong. After 26 years of wind and rain, Tetra Pak finally withdrew from South China. Since then, Tetra Pak has accelerated its layout in Southeast Asia and other places.
