TCL developed a stand-up pouch for heated food packaging

TCL Packaging, a specialist in printing and converting packaging films, has developed the industry's first printable, stand-up, and microwaveable stand-up pouch, which has been widely used by UK-based Asda Super market. It took the company a year to develop the stand-up pouch, which is suitable for microwaves and conventional ovens, can withstand high temperatures of 200°, and can also be used as a storage bag for freezing.

This stand-up pouch is developed in-house and made of PET, which can maintain stability and a certain hardness during cooking. Because the bag can stand, it is especially suitable for heating in the microwave, which can ensure safety.

This product has been certified for food safety by Smithers Pira and also complies with current EU regulatory requirements (EC) No. 1935/2004.

The product uses the latest heatable inks and a new pouch-making conversion process that guarantees better sealing. Due to its non-slip properties, it is also very convenient in the process of using the bag.

Markus Jarvstrom, the company's technical director, said that this is a technically complex innovative product, and we hope this product can change the way some foods are packaged. The performance and printing on both sides of the bag have been extensively tested.

This packaging truly replaces the rigid plastic and glass packaging methods for soups, sauces, and meals on the market. Because it is recyclable, it reduces waste to some extent.
