Reasons why PVC is difficult to be replaced

The reason why PVC is difficult to replace as a low-cost and efficient material:

1: PVC has high safety performance. PVC is the only material among many plastics that has been proven to store human blood cells. PVC has passed a large number of European food contact and medical certification.

2: PVC is versatile and durable. Light weight, toughness and durability – ideal for construction. Because of its high definition and excellent sensory properties, PVC is also suitable for short-term applications such as food packaging.

3: PVC can save fossil fuels. PVC is made from 57% sodium chloride and 43% petroleum. Compared to other general-purpose plastics, PVC uses the least amount of fossil fuel.

4: PVC uses less primary energy. The production process of PVC is the one that consumes the least amount of primary energy in general-purpose plastics.

5: The carbon emissions of PVC in the production process are relatively small.

6: PVC is completely recyclable. The reworkability of PVC is very high, and its carbon emissions are even smaller when it is reused again or when it is reused three times. In Europe, more than 300,000 tons of recycled PVC waste is recycled each year. By 2020, the annual recycling of PVC will reach 800,000 tons.
