Japan develops temperature-sensitive polyester resin fiber f

(UNITIKA) announced on June 5 that it has developed a new temperature-sensitive material for 3D printing, which allows the printed product to change its shape freely after being heated.

It is reported that this "3D printing with temperature-sensitive fibers" in a safe range of heating, such as the general bath temperature conditions can be softened, so remain in a warm state can be modified as desired shape, after cooling can be shaped. After the high temperature reinforcement such as boiling water, the material is hardened and no further thermal deformation will occur. This new temperature-sensitive material has been technically processed to have heat resistance and will not soften during the printing process at room temperature.

Unigyco launched a new temperature-sensitive fiber for 3D printing, material for special polyester resin, diameter of about 1.75mm, nozzle temperature of 190 ~ 220 ℃, the temperature of the hot bed OFF ~ 45 ℃. 3D printing after a little heating can also be applied to trim, the pursuit of the ultimate printer is really a blessing. However, this new material is still in the process of actively preparing samples and further improvement, and Unigyco said it will be available for sale in 2017.
