1, plastic mold selection


Blister molds are generally plaster mold, copper plating and aluminum mold three


Plaster mold: Gypsum is molded in a semi-wet state, then dried to mold. The plaster mold is low in cost and easy to modify, but the plaster mold is not high enough in accuracy, the surface is not smooth, and it is fragile and not durable, so it is often used to make佯 Make molds for electroplating copper molds or some plastic molds that require less mass production.


Aluminum mold: The aluminum ingot is machined by the machine (lathe, milling machine, CNC, etc.). Aluminum mold with high precision, smooth surface and durable, but the price is very expensive, aluminum molds are generally used in the plastic mold products that require higher precision copper mold.


Electroplated copper mold: After a sample is made of a plaster mold, plating a copper shell is an electroplated copper mold. The cost is higher than that of the plaster mold, but it is much cheaper than the aluminum mold because of its smooth and durable surface and low cost. Copper mold is the most commonly used plastic mold.


2, the choice of plastic materials


The raw materials of plastic products are only plastic sheets, and the film thickness generally does not exceed 1.5mm. Commonly used sheets include: PVC, PET, PP, PS, and flocked sheets, gold-plated sheets, and antistatic sheets based thereon. .


PVC: The most commonly used plastic materials, soft, strong toughness, good plasticity, can be made transparent and various colors, commonly used transparent PVC packaging electronics, cosmetics, toys, gifts and other products.


PET (A-PET): Hard, good toughness, high strength, bright surface, environmental protection, non-toxic, transparent and a variety of colors of the sheet. Disadvantages are that PET high frequency heat sealing is more difficult and the price is much more expensive than PVC. This material is often required to replace PVC with high-grade and environmentally friendly users.


PS: small density (light weight), environmental protection, non-toxic, very good plasticity, poor toughness and brittle, can not be made of bright materials, it can only be made into bottom bracket plastic, because of its easy to crack, this type of plastic should not be recycled


PP: The material is particularly soft, good toughness, environmental protection, non-toxic, high temperature, often made of food utensils or other high-temperature products packaging; but its poor plasticity, processing difficulties, poor surface gloss, and processing will change color shallow.


PET-G: physical properties similar to A-PET, but it can be heat-sealed, and its price is 80% more expensive than A-PET


3, plastic product price determinants


Unit price of plastic blister = product material cost + energy consumption + labor and transportation + profit


Energy consumption: Blister is processed by heat, and the power consumption is relatively large compared to other industries, which is roughly 8% of the cost of product materials.

Artificial: Blister is mainly produced by machines, with less labor, which is roughly 10% of the cost of product materials.

Transportation: According to the customer's distance from the factory

Material Cost: The calculation of product material cost is more complicated. Before the calculation, the following data should be made clear:


Raw material price: According to the use of the product, determine which material and grade of material to use, find the lowest supplier of this kind of material

Film thickness: pre-cutting the product must be made of thick film, depending on the thickness and shape of the various parts

Number of types of layout: According to the product's external dimensions and shape, calculate how many modules can be arranged in a single version. When the density is reduced, the quality of the product will be reduced. The thinning will increase the material loss and increase the cost.

Material loss rate: The main factor is the shape of the product, the number of products, and the fit of the external dimensions with the chassis of the machine. The more square the shape, the greater the output, the lower the loss rate.

Material cost formula:


Product material cost = 1 ton raw material price / 1 ton raw material finished product quantity


Number 1 ton of finished feed production the raw material 1 t = length / number of plastic template layout length X X (100% - material loss rate)


1 t 1 t = length of material / material density / film thickness / width (the width of the plastic chassis)


The material density (PVC is 1.36T/M3), blister chassis width (0.51-0.71M), template length and other four parameters are all estimated by professional experience.

4, blister ROHS environmental issues


The developed countries all require that the products comply with EU ROHS environmental protection requirements and use or contain four heavy metals such as cadmium (Cd), lead (Pb), mercury (Hg), and hexavalent chromium (Cr6+), as well as polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) and polybrominated dibromide. PBDE as a flame retardant electronic and electrical products will not be allowed to enter the EU market, and blister packaging as an electronic product packaging accessory is no exception.


The PET, PS, and PP materials do not contain the six toxic components themselves, but the film makers still have to conduct regular inspections and require their raw material suppliers to provide environmental testing data.


PVC materials will generally exceed lead, but PVC sheet manufacturers can control the process to make PVC lead content to ROHS requirements, which is the appearance of environmentally friendly PVC, the price is slightly higher.
